Red Dog Overland began with a fleeting thought.

I was driving back from the STLCA Great Smoky Mountain Trail Ride in 2022. I had just gone to my first STLCA event. The camaraderie there was incredible. So many like-minded people, all therefor one reason- wheeling their Toyota.

People from all walks of life- families, younger kids barely out of high school, new comers like myself, and old timers alike. All bonded by the sense of adventure and their love of their Toyota.

As I drove home I thought about all the adventures I had been on in my 1994 Land Cruiser and the people I had shared them with. I realized I had been on nearly all of them with my best buddy and lifetime co-pilot- my dog Oliver (AKA Oobert). I thought about how what brings all of these different people together is the sense of adventure, companionship, and exploration. But how to bring your friends together even when they are spread across the country and world?

Defining a lifestyle.

How many times have you been driving through town and spotted a completely kitted out rig and thought “man that thing is awesome!” But how to connect with someone you don’t know how to reach?

A lifestyle is not just about a hat or a vehicle. It is about embodying your passion through everything you do. The clothes you wear, what your vehicle looks like, how you spend your free time, what you daydream about at your 9 to 5. Living the lifestyle is a calling card to those around you who live the same lifestyle.

Here at Red Dog Overland, we seek to unite by connecting those who live the same lifestyle of off-roading, overlanding, wheeling, crawling, whatever you call it, or just plain driving around town- by creating apparel, accessories, and vehicle parts that define the Toyota lifestyle. If you see the Red Dog designs on someone’s rig, go start a conversation, you may have just stumbled upon your next adventure companion!

“It is one of the blessings of wilderness life that it shows us how few things we need in order to be perfectly happy.”
